to warn other MCPs to make sure their transcripts
reflect the current state of exams they’ve passed.
Wallace noticed that his transcript didn’t state
that he’d passed a particular exam, which he’d
taken a couple of weeks earlier. Wallace sent
multiple email messages to
[email protected]
and finally received a response that he’d hear
from somebody within 48 hours. Two days passed
without a word. So he called the training and
services number, 800-636-7544. The person he spoke
to there suggested faxing in the results from
the exam, which he did. Two weeks later, his transcript
showed updated information.
Wallace believes his problem may
have resulted because he used a solution provider
number instead of his usual social security number
when registering for the exam. When he passed
the test, he received a congratulations letter
from Microsoft on becoming an MCP, even though
he’s been an MCP since 1996.
Microsoft recommends that MCPs check
their transcripts a few weeks after passing a
new exam. That’s done by going to the MCP secured
site and choosing the Transcript Tool, which allows
candidates to print a copy of the current information.
