Gartner: Blackcomb Delayed, Longhorn on Tap
Microsoft not expected to release next version of Windows until 2003.
Market research firm and consultancy Gartner Inc. warned that the version of Windows which Microsoft Corp. plans to ship after Windows .NET Servercode-named "Blackcomb"would probably be delayed through 2003.
Gartner says Microsoft's interim version of the OScode-named "Longhorn" and planned for release sometime in 2003will focus on reliability.
The news generated barely a ripple in the Windows user community, however.
