Microsoft Announces New Version of Security Specialist Titles
In conjunction with new Exchange-based specialist titles announced this morning, the company adds Windows 2003 versions of the security titles.
In conjunction with the new messaging titles that Microsoft announced
this morning, the company has announced details on the Windows 2003 versions
of the security specialist titles and officially announced two new Windows
2003-based security exams.
The MCSA: Security on Windows 2003 is similar to its Windows 2000 counterpart,
requiring five exams. The Windows 2003 version has an obviously strong
bias toward Windows 2003 exams and includes a new exam, 70-299, Implementing
and Administering Security in a Windows Server 2003 Network, in the security
specialization portion:

The MCSE: Security on Windows 2003 maps differently from its Windows
2000 counterpart. Whereas the Windows 2000 track lists four core and three
specialization requirements, the newer version lists five core and three
security specialist exams (eight total), as shown here:

Besides 70-299, the MCSE: Security on Windows 2003 includes a relatively
new exam, 70-298, Designing Security for a Windows 2003 Network. The exam
was listed on the MCSE on Windows 2000 and requirements page (click
here and here)
since July. According to the exam objectives guides, 70-298 will beta
test later this month and 70-299 will head to beta testing in November.
Both specializations, like the Windows 2000 versions, allow candidates
to waive a portion of the security specialization requirement by showing
proof that they have passed SYO-101, Security+, a vendor-neutral security
exam offered by The Computing Technology Industry Association. To read
