Tenrox Readies Doc Management for SharePoint

Tenrox says it will add next month document management capabilities to its modular project and workforce management software for mid-sized to large organizations.

Dubbed Tenrox Document Management or Tenrox DM, the new module is built on Microsoft’s SharePoint Portal Server and SharePoint Services, and adds document management capabilities to the company’s portfolio of solutions.

“Tenrox DM is a document storage and information sharing tool that facilitates collaboration within an organization on project documents, employee files, financial transactions, purchases, helpdesk issues and other document intensive processes,” the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner company said in a statement.

With Tenrox DM, users will be able to create, manage, view, and edit SharePoint and version controlled documents directly inside the Tenrox Web interface. Additionally, documents can be associated to users, projects and clients as well as to timesheets, expense reports, requisitions, invoices and other work processes such as project proposal and project risks.

Besides check-in/check-out and version control, users gain Tenrox document change management capabilities such as document change audit trail, and organization and work structure-based search and filtering capabilities. The combination of Tenrox DM and Tenrox workflow modules provides a process-driven and audited document approval and routing system.

“The combination of Tenrox, Microsoft Office Project, SharePoint, SQL Reporting Services, and OLAP Analysis Services [provides] a modular solution . . . that addresses all of our clients’ portfolio, project and workforce management needs, without forcing them to change or to be locked into a specific accounting or payroll system,” Fadi-Paul Tawil, Tenrox product manager said in a statement.

Tenrox DM will be available as part of Tenrox 8.5, which is scheduled to ship in mid-July.
