Microsoft To Patch 11 Security Flaws Tuesday
Microsoft announced today that next week's Patch Tuesday will include 11 patches, with at least two rated critical.
Six of the patches will relate to Windows, four to Office and one for Microsoft's .NET Framework, the company said in an advanced notification bulletin released today.
The .NET Framework patch will be rated moderate, and although at
least one of the Office and Windows patches will get the highest rating of critical,
there could be more. Microsoft keeps the information in its advanced notifications
purposely vague, so it is impossible to say exactly how many patches will earn
what rating or what the patches will fix.
Last week, the company released a rare out-of-cycle
patch for a zero-day VML flaw. Microsoft has yet to patch another
zero-day flaw discovered early last month that affects Word 2000.
