Nothing fancy this week: Outlook offers some nifty ways to keep track of your schedule with a calendar printing assistant.

My wife and I both own our own companies, so we're constantly on the move. Consequently, keeping each other informed about what's on the calendar between us and our friends can be challenging -- especially these days, when just a night out seems to need a month of lead time.
So we started keeping this little calendar hung from the fridge. There, we pencil in the events we have upcoming with our friends. (And yes, in this era of the iPhone we're still using pencils and paper.)
In doing some searching recently for another piece, I came across the Outlook 2007 Calendar Printing Assistant. This nifty little add-on for Outlook includes some nice skins for various calendar types, ranging from those you'd hang on the wall to ones that are specifically form-fitted for your daily binder. One is even available that shows all the dates of the year on a single page for long-term planning.
This tool integrates with your Outlook calendars, which means that any appointments or meetings currently on your Outlook calendar can be automatically added to the printed calendar view. Or, if you're like we are, you can just print a blank calendar and use the old-fashioned pencil and paper method.
In any case, I find this tool to be invaluable when I'm looking for more than the standard views that I get with Outlook alone. If you want to use it, you can download your own copy.
